We value the principles of child centred learning and our students enjoy a mix of different educational experiences both in and out of the classroom.

Our teachers are highly trained and experienced professionals. There is a healthy mix of Expat and local teachers who work to achieve high learning outcomes for each student. Our teachers are specialists in their field and the all students benefit from specialist subject teachers whether they are in year one or year ten.

We follow the Cambridge International curriculum at primary, secondary and IGCSE levels, offering a wide range of subject for study. CAMBRIDGE INTERNATIONAL CURRICULUM

Beaconhouse Newlands offers the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) for our Reception classes and the Cambridge International Curriculum at Primary, Secondary and IGCSE Levels. The University of Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) is the world’s largest provider of international education programmes and qualifications for 4-19 year olds. CAIE qualifications are offered in over 160 countries and recognised by universities, education providers and employers across the world.

The CAIE programme aims to develop learners who are confident, responsible, reflective, innovative and engaged. It offers a progressive and rigorous programme from reception, primary to A-Level. It is flexible enough to allow teachers to design learning activities that meet students’ learning needs. It also provides guidance for curriculum development and classroom teaching and learning. Teachers are able to assess students’ learning as they progress through their academic journey. These regular assessments assist teachers to track students’ progress and to respond appropriately to individual students’ learning needs.

Welcome Message from Principal

A very warm welcome to Beaconhouse Newlands International School, Kuala Lumpur.

Newlands is a member of The Beaconhouse Group of Schools, who have already established schools in eight different countries across the globe. The Beaconhouse Mission drives the strategic direction as well as the day to day operations of our school.

At BNIS, we not only prepare students for exams but prepare them for life where they will thrive and succeed as Global Citizens of the 21st Century.

We offer a very affordable, continuous, international education from the age of 4 in our Early Years Foundation Stage programme all the way to the internationally recognised Cambridge IGCSE qualification at the age of 16. Not all learning happens in the classroom, many of our most memorable lessons happen in the least likely places. Throughout these years we take a holistic approach to education, developing academic; physical, social, pastoral and emotional needs of every student. We recognise that every student is unique and there is no limit to what every student can achieve. We collaborate closely with families to ensure we really get to know every student as an individual. We plan and look for opportunities that will deliver an appropriate personalised curriculum, that will ensure academic success; develop effective behaviours for learning and instil positive attitudes for life.

Close ties with families is at our core and the African proverb comes to mind, it takes a village to raise a child. Parents, students and the school have all responsibilities in ensuring success for every student. Visibility, honesty and communication is strong in our community and are always here to listen and advise.

We invite you to explore our website and to visit our school to discover more about the excellent opportunities available for your children at Beaconhouse Newlands International School.
